When you next catch yourself about to do something you may regret or feeling something you don't want to feel try asking yourself any of the following:
- Do I want this thought, feeling or behaviour?
- How will I feel in one hours time?
- Is this based on facts or feelings?
- What is the underlying reason for my decision?
- Are my feelings based on facts or the incident?
Most of the time this will shift the needle from emotional to rational.
